EPT San Remo Attracts Record Breaking Field
April 17, 2022
Day 1b of the PokerStars European Poker Tour San Remo main event successfully brought in 655 more players to the tournament felt, creating between the two starting days, a total field of 1,240 runners and a €6,014,000 total prize pool, big enough to choke a large horse.

Throughout the day’s nine levels of play, more than 300 of those players were sent home 5,300 Euros lighter than before they arrived including Katja Thater, Johnny Lodden, Michael Binger, Joe Cada and PokerRoad’s own Barry Greenstein, who sadly busted right at the end of the night when his all-in King-Queen lost to Ace-Nine, according to the PokerStars blog.

Players who survived the difficult day included Liv Boeree, Jason Mercier, Liz Lieu, Dan Shak, J.P. Kelly, Kevin MacPhee, Jeff Sarwer, Quinn Do and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, who ended the day second in chips behind only Michael Eerhart, the chip leader for both Day 1b and Day 1a currently holding over 245,000 in tournament chips.
