Allan Baekke Leads With 24 To Go At EPT San Remo
April 19, 2022
Allan Baekke, the winner of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Snowfest main event last month in the Austrian Alps, is leading the field at the PokerStars EPT San Remo with only 24 players remaining, putting him dangerously close to another major title, an even bigger top prize- this time worth €1,250,000 (or about $1,685,000 USD)- and the possibility of being the EPT's first ever back-to-back champion.

Baekke, less than three weeks before his EPT Snowfest win, also secured a second place cash in a €2,000 buy-in preliminary event at the EPT Germany worth more than $131,000, bumping his March cash totals above $734,000.

Clearly Baekke “ran good” in March, but his April has the potential to be even better, as he is already well in the money in San Remo and is currently sitting with 3,483,000 in tournament chips- close to a million more than his closest rival Dermot Blain.

Some of the other exciting players still involved at the EPT San Remo after 4 full days of play include Claudio Rinaldi, Thang Duc Nguyen and Liv Boeree, who is right in the heat of things with around 1,337,000.
