18 And In The Money At WPT World Championship
April 22, 2022
Day 4 of the World Poker Tour World Championship, was basically more of the same; top pros knocking each other out, a day end list filled with recognizable faces and once again Shawn Buchanan and Faraz Jaka taking daily turns grabbing the chip lead from one another; however unlike the previous days this one ended with all the players in the money, finally dipping into a bloated total prize pool worth $4,728,750.

Day 4 was Jaka’s turn to take the chip lead, just as it was on Day 2, and he finished the day with over 3 million in tournament chips- nearly a million more than the second biggest stack of the group, David Benyamine.

Shawn Buchanan, the Day 1 and Day 3 chip leader is still in the running as well, though his formally sizable stack did take a significant hit as a result of the fourth day’s all-star play.  Buchanan, now more than ever, has some real work to do to take his turn tonight as the Day 5 chip leader, needing to somehow dominate a field that is still comprised of such legends as Scotty Nguyen, Phil Hellmuth, David Williams, Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin, Billy Baxter, J.J. Liu and Matt “All In At 420” Stout.

Only 6 of these last 18 players are destined for the WPT televised final table, set to be determined in now less than two days of play, while all the rest will be sent home with a mere pittance compared to the big money doled out to those lucky final few.

To learn who those last 6 players will be, visit www.worldpokertour.com today and tomorrow, when play resumes at noon (Vegas time); or stop on back to PokerRoad.com tomorrow, to get another recap of all that went down at the Bellagio.
