The first details for a special charity event, held in honor of PokerRoad blogger Thuy Doan have been announced, and already a few high stakes pros including Andrew “Good2cu” Robl have signed up in support.

This special online tournament, which can now be found on Full Tilt Poker under tournament number #158232539, is a $200 + $100 rebuy event, with the $200 part going towards the prize pool and the $100 going to benefit Thuy, who is still recovering from amputation surgery to remove a rare soft tissue sarcoma in her upper left calf.

The tournament has been aptly named “Friends For Thuy,” and clearly many of those who will eventually sign up for this May 16th event- like Robl- are exactly that; however others who don’t know the women personally, but want to support her after reading her account of her battle with cancer in her popular blog, are sure to sign up as well- not to mention all the folks just looking for a fun poker tournament populated by many of the biggest names in the game- it should all make for a great group.
