The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Nottingham main event, attracted enough players this week to sit below only last year’s European Poker Tour London main event on the all time list of biggest UK poker tournaments, yet despite the large field of 650 total players, this tournament is moving so fast organizers still felt it prudent to remove an entire day from the original schedule of play.

Amazingly, after only 2 full days of cards for the entrants in Nottingham, 72 players are now all that remain, each already in the money and focused on a top prize of £80,000 (about $116,000 USD).

The current man to beat for that prize, out of those 72 remaining, is chip leader Amandeep Atwal from the UK, who has held the lead one way or the other since Day 1 and still holds it strongly with close to 390,000 in tournament chips.
