2008 Canadian Open Poker Championships Set For March 5th Through The 9th

The Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada will play host to another exciting heads-up tournament when the 2008 Canadian Open Poker Championship rolls into town. This $5,000.00 buy-in main event is limited to only 128 players. The event achieved success in 2007, drawing many big name pros, including, Huck Seed, Andy Bloch, Brad Booth and Antonio Esfandiari.

The heads up tournament is the main event, but it is just one of five events that comprise the Canadian Open Poker Championships. The other events include a $1,500 buy-in short-handed tournament, a pair of freezeouts with a $1,000 buy in and a $500 buy in, and a $500 charity event where 5% of the prize pool will go to Breast Cancer Research.
