At 10 am on Wednesday, April 2nd, Congress will hold an important hearing regarding the implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). The Congressional hearing entitled, "Proposed UIGEA Regulations: Burden without Benefit?" will be conducted by the Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology.

This hearing will be one of Congress's first real opportunities to examine a bill, that many involved parties believe is just "bad law," and completely unworkable. It will be chaired by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a Democratic Congressman from Illinois' Fourth District.
