The madness of the 2010 World Series of Poker has been going strong for less than a week, yet already some Vegas players might be looking for a good excuse to get the hell out of the Rio for a night, and if they are, one highly altruistic option may be to head downtown to the Golden Nugget Casino for Friday’s All In 4 Autism Charity Poker Tournament.

This special $220 buy-in (plus optional $100 rebuys) No-Limit Hold ‘em event, has been created to help raise funds for children with autism and their families in Las Vegas- a condition that effects more than 1 in 150 children- and is expected to attract numerous top pros and celebrities including Shanna Moakler, Erik Seidel, Kristy Gazes, Jason Alexander, Lee Watkinson, Joe Rietman, Miss Nevada Julianna Erdesz, Karina Jett- All In 4 Autism’s National Spokeswoman- and many others.

The tournament, a fitting kickoff to the Golden Nugget’s Grand Poker Series, is set to begin Friday, June 4th at 6 p.m., and along with raising money for a great cause the event will also offer numerous impressive prizes for participants.  The top prize in the event is $10,000 in cash, which the winner can then take back to the WSOP, along with the always healthy reminder that poker can sometimes do so much more then just pad wallets and decorate wrists.
