The 411 On The 41st (WSOP): As Main Event Looms Tournament Of Champions, Crowns One
July 5, 2021
The World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions, the million dollar invitation only freeroll, is one of only a handful of events from the 2010 WSOP that was slated to be filmed for rebroadcast on ESPN.  This event, which recently concluded over the holiday weekend, held 27 of the best and most interesting poker players on the planet, certainly assuring some great TV, so for those who want to keep their viewing enjoyment of it as pure as possible, stop reading now, because you’re about to find which poker legend came out on top.

The final table of the TOC held nine superb players each guaranteed at least $25,000, but only one could win the $500,000 top prize and claim the coveted TOC title, and that one, a former Main Event winner, NBC National Heads-up Championship winner and owner of 4 WSOP bracelets, was certainly worthy of the honor.

1996 Main Event champion Huck Seed took down the 2010 WSOP TOC after defeating a final table that held not only PokerRoad’s Barry Greenstein but also Johnny Chan, Daniel Negreanu and Howard “The Professor” Lederer, who made it all the way to heads-up play before depositing his pile with Huck.

Lederer, for his troubles, earned $250,000 but no title, however luckily for him when he busted early Sunday morning there was still one more title he could claim at this year’s series, inarguably when it comes to poker, the most important of them all, Main Event champion.

The final table finish positions for the 2010 WSOP Tournament of Champions were as follows:

1st.  Huck Seed- $500,000

2nd.  Howard Lederer- $250,000

3rd.  Johnny Chan- $100,000

4th.  Joe Hachem- $25,000

5th.  Barry Greenstein- $25,000

6th.  Daniel Negreanu- $25,000

7th.  Jennifer Harman- $25,000

8th.  Annie Duke- $25,000

9th.  T.J. Cloutier- $25,000
