This weekend at the Palms Casino Resort and Hotel, NBA Basketball great Shawn “The Matrix” Marion, is hosting a very special charity poker tournament to benefit single parent families, for not only numerous big name celebrities, but also for the public at large- though seating is limited.

This tournament, a $250 buy-in No-Limit Hold ‘em event, according to the press release will feature an exciting, fast-paced structure, allowing for a fun 5 hours or so of poker that ends quickly enough to allow the many celebrities and featured guests in attendance the opportunity to party and hang out together afterwards.

Some of the celebrities and poker players expected to attend Saturday’s event include Mekhi Phifer, Annie Duke, Joe Reitman, David Williams, Bob Guiney, Michelle Williams, Trishelle Cannatella, Maria Ho, Tiffany Michelle and Dwyane Wade.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Shawn Marion Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping single parent families, primarily by providing them with college scholarships and special grant opportunities.
