Zynga Poker, the highly popular poker application on Facebook, recently found itself with some serious competition, thanks to Playdom and their new official World Series of Poker Facebook app.

This new WSOP branded free play app, will allow Facebook players to compete in ring games and tournaments against friends and players from around the globe, giving them the opportunity to not only collect virtual achievements and bracelets, but also potentially real world buy-ins to actual future WSOP events through sweepstakes and competitions.

Those competing on Facebook will also be able to see how their skills stack up against not only all the other players, on a prestigious overall leader board, but also just those on their friends list- a feature seemingly tailor-made for bragging, one-upping, and trash-talking.
