Florianopolis Finale Finds Habernig Happiest
August 9, 2021
The PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour Florianopolis main event, wrapped up over the weekend with Austria’s Matthias Habernig claiming first.

Habernig outlasted a total field of 364 players to secure the victory and top prize of R$435,000- a little under $250,000 American when converted from Brazilian Reals.

Habernig in many ways fulfilled expectations by taking down the event on Sunday, entering the final table with over 3 million in chips while none of the other eight even topped the 900,000 mark.  Brazil’s Andre Scaff came the closest, going into the final table with 814,000, however in the end it was Dayan Vardanega who lasted the longest against Habernig’s merciless chip mountain, finishing runner-up for R$251,700 (around $143,000).

The final table finish positions for the PokerStars LAPT Florianopolis main event were as follows:

1st.  Matthias Habernig- R$435,000

2nd.  Dayan Vardanega- R$251,700
