As Day 4 Begins, Little Left At The Legends
August 24, 2021
The World Poker Tour Legends of Poker, at LA’s Bicycle Casino, is down to only 15 players after three complete days of play, and among that small group of survivors sits one man all too familiar with being this deep.  Victory Poker’s Jonathan Little, winner of the WPT’s Foxwoods World Poker Finals and Mirage Poker Showdown, currently sits in the money and second in chips overall at the Legends of Poker, and finds himself dangerously close to pulling the elusive WPT hat trick.

Jonathan Little, according to the WPT’s stats page, has already earned nearly $3.5 million since his first cash in Season 5, and now thanks to this run is guaranteed at least another $19,500, or as much as $750,000- this event’s first place prize.  If Little can pull out the win, that score would be enough to land him in the top five on the all time WPT money earners list and would put him in a three-way tie for first in WPT titles, with Gus Hansen and Carlos Mortensen.

Of course Little isn’t there yet, and to see just how quickly a player can go from possible WPT champion to spectator, one need only look at the 45 players that started yesterday’s Day 3 optimistically, only to end it on the outside looking in.  Some of the top pros eliminated from the Legends on Day 3 included Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler (20th- $13,000), Erica Schoenberg (30th- $11,500), Joe Hachem (43rd- $10,200), Amit Makhija (45th- $10,200), J.C. Alvarado (38th- $10,200) and PokerRoad’s Joe Sebok, who ended the day with a 32nd place cash worth $11,500.

Some of the well respected players Little will still need to face on Day 4 include Jared Jaffee, Tyler Cornell, Franco Brunetti and Andrew Frankenberger, the only man starting the day above him with nearly 2,000,000 in tournament chips.

Day 4 of the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker, has already begun at the Bicycle Casino, to virtually rail the action as Little continues his historic run visit for updates, chip counts, photos and videos, coming straight out of Cali.
