Krause Claims Merit Cyprus Championship
August 25, 2021
Germany’s Andreas Krause, finished in first today at the Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic main event, earning a top prize worth $415,780.

Krause outlasted a total field of 181 players to score the Merit Cyprus Classic bracelet, surpassing such tough competitors along the way as Sorel Mizzi, Antonio Esfandiari, Chip Jett and three World Series of Poker 2010 Main Event final tablists- John Dolan, Michael “The Grinder Mizrachi, and John Racener.

Full Tilt Poker Red Pro Van Marcus, and Canada’s Clavet Mathieu, lasted the longest against Krause’s aggression, but eventually fell as well, earning both six-figure scores to add to their tournament bankrolls.

Despite Krause's impressive tournament earnings which already totaled more than $1.7 million, this most recent score is the largest of a poker tournament career that can boast wins as far back as 1999, and now easily pushes Krause's total cashes north of the $2 million barrier.

The final table finish positions for the 2010 Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus main event were as follows:

1st.  Andreas Krause- $415,780

2nd.  Mathieu Clavet- $285,850

3rd.  Van Marcus- $162,415

4th.  Zsolt Vasvenszki- $90,950

5th.  Ahmet Ucali- $68,215

6th.  Hakan Dalokay- $55,220
