Day 1 Wraps At The First Event of the 2010 WSOP Europe
September 14, 2021
Event #1 of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe, the £2,650 buy-in, six-handed No-Limit Hold'em, recently concluded for the night at London’s Casino at the Empire, with 31 players remaining of a sellout busting original 244.

Among the many top pros that sadly found their way to the rail during the fast paced day of action were such well known names as  PokerRoad’s Barry Greenstein, Antonio Esfandiari, Annette Obrestad, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Howard Lederer, Vanessa Rousso, Jeff Madsen, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and 2010 WSOP Main Event November Niner Michael Mizrachi.

As perhaps a testament to how chock-full of pros these WSOP Europe events can be though, there are still plenty of recognizable names in contention heading into tomorrow’s Day 2 including Jeff Lisandro, Chris Moorman, Praz Bansi and remarkably both Phil Laak and Liv Boeree, despite both dealing with disappointing near final table misses yesterday at the English Poker Open Main Event, just down the street at the Palm Beach Casino.

The 244 entrants for this event created a total prize pool of £610,000, a top prize of £170,802 (about $265,000 USD) and will payout the top 24 places.  To find out who makes the cut tomorrow, or for more details on today’s action, check out the live updates from the event- powered by PokerNews- at www.wsop.com.
