WSOP Europe Event #3: J.P. Kelly Headlines Final Nine
September 20, 2021
The third event of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe, the £1,075 buy-in No-Limit Hold ‘em, has shrunk from 582 players to only 9, including one player highly familiar with being in this position.

Poker pro J.P. Kelly, who will enter tomorrow’s Event #3 final table third in chips, took down this event back in 2009, and in the process earned his second WSOP bracelet- both from that year- and a top prize worth about $225,000 USD.

To get to this point again, Kelly has already had to outlast many big name players including Jason Mercier, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Freddy Deeb, Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler, Liv Boeree and PokerRoad’s Barry Greenstein, and now has just eight more in his way to potentially earn his third WSOP bracelet and a top prize of £133,857- close to $210,000 USD.

Of course those eight players are unlikely to make things easy for J.P., and currently include in their ranks chip leader Kaveh Payman, who has nearly double the stack of Mr. Kelly.

The final table chip counts of the third event of the 2010 WSOP Europe are as follows:

Kaveh Payman- 434,000

Mehdi Senhaji- 369,000

J.P. Kelly- 242,000

Jeppe Brisgaard- 171,000

Nicky Katz- 150,000

Scott Shelley- 148,000

Karim Jomeem- 109,000

Paul Ian Pitchford- 77,000

Jack Lyman- 55,000
