EPT London: The Start
September 30, 2021
The 2010 PokerStars European Poker Tour London main event began recently, with the first of two Day Ones attracting 339 players.  Last year’s equivalent tournament, which was taken down by Aaron Gustavson to the tune of nearly $1.4 million, attracted 730 players, meaning this year’s champion could potentially have to fight through even more, to earn an even larger payday.

Among those 339 players were many fan favorites eager to do just that including Sorel Mizzi, Greg “FBT” Mueller, Erik Seidel, Carlos Mortensen and PokerRoad’s Jeff Madsen, though none of them will, having each already dropped from contention during Day 1a.

Some of the more fortunate players from the day, like Will Failla, John Juanda, Ivan Demidov, Jeff Sarwer, Tom Marchese and Greg Raymer, thankfully ended the day with chips and will now meet up with the Day 1b survivors on a conglomerated Day 2 tomorrow, as Day 1b is currently already underway.
