Real Money Poker Hits Apple Handhelds
October 8, 2021
Poker playing Apple users, anxiously waiting to play some cards on their handheld devices, need wait no longer, as SwitchPoker today announced the launch of the first ever iPhone and iPad compatible, real money online poker site.

Despite the obvious financial potential of playing online poker on Apple's mobile devices, up till now no online poker sites- not even the big three- have figured out a way to get past two key hurdles; Apple handheld devices don't work with Java, and the Apple store generally doesn't approve of real money gambling apps.  However, SwitchPoker, a brand new player in the market, has apparently figured out a way.

This new company, based out of Ireland, cracked the problem by creating a purely web based site that works with the iPhone and iPad’s existing browser, as well as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and others.  The new site, which launched today (10/8/10), has real money play and will periodically be offering special cash bonuses to new players, to encourage them to give it a try- follow @SwitchPoker on Twitter to get in on future deals.

Current limitations of the new site, clearly still in the very early stages of development, include no sit-n-gos, no multi-table tournaments, no other games besides No-Limit Texas Hold 'em, and sadly no availability to US players.
