Guinness And Chips Create Unexpected Headlines In Ireland
October 21, 2021
In honor of the upcoming 2010 PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival, a weekend’s worth of poker tournaments in Dublin, Ireland, with buy-ins ranging from €110 to €1,650, organizers constructed the world’s largest poker chip stack and then got it certified by the Guinness Book of World Records, according to a recent press release.

The massive stack, which looked like someone gave Carlos Mortensen access to Jamie Gold’s 2006 WSOP final table chip pile, stood at 3 meters tall, 50 cm wide, and contained 75,000 individual poker chips.  The stack took over 72 hours to construct, and featured one complete collapse before finally being completed, but now stands in all its glory at the Burlington Hotel to welcome players this Friday.
