EPT Vienna: Day 1A
October 27, 2021
The initial day of play at the most recent stop on the PokerStars European Poker Tour, got underway in Vienna, Austria yesterday, with 234 players choosing to compete on the first of two Day Ones.

Among that starting group, which was eventually slimmed down to 117 by the end of the day’s play, were many of the usual suspects from the big buy-in European tournament poker scene including Barny Boatman, Lex Veldhuis, Jake Cody, Alan Baekke, Arnaud Mattern and Jeff Sarwer, though those last three were unfortunately already eliminated by the end of the day’s play.

With over 230 players already committing the €5,300 buy-in to enter this year’s EPT Vienna stop, this tournament already has over double the prize pool of 2005’s EPT Vienna- which was the last time PokerStars was here- and there’s still another whole day's worth of buy-ins to collect.

The 2005 EPT Vienna winner, Pascal Perrault, earned nearly $250,000 for winning that tournament, which naturally leaves many to wonder just how much this year’s EPT Vienna champion is destined to bank.
