Kid Poker Vaults Ahead In Vienna
October 29, 2021
Only 80 players remain of an original 587 after Day 2 of  the PokerStars European Poker Tour Vienna main event, and it’s Daniel Negreanu leading the field with nearly 900,000 in tournament chips.

Negreanu, who historically hasn’t had much luck in EPT events, by the end of the day had already surpassed his previous deepest cash and is now in good shape to, if not earn the final leg of poker’s triple crown with a win here in Vienna- worth nearly $1,000,000 US- at least make the eight person final table on Sunday.

Some of the other top players still in the hunt in Vienna, no doubt with designs on stopping Negreanu from getting that far, include Luke Schwartz, Surinder Sunar, Nacho Barbero and Anthony Roux.

Day 3 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Vienna main event begins at noon local time- i.e. 3 a.m. Pacific Time.  To rail the action online as one of poker’s biggest names continues his run for an EPT final table, check out live updates on the PokerStars blog.
