The brand new PokerStars North American Poker Tour, has one more stop left on its posted Season 1 schedule, and that final stop’s main event starts Friday here in Los Angeles, a $5,000 buy-in, televised tournament, expected to attract many of the top pros on the American circuit.

This first PokerStars NAPT LA visit will primarily take place in Bell Garden’s Bicycle Casino, though according to the NAPT’s website, one event, ironically the more expensive $5,200 buy-in, Bounty Shootout, will be held in Compton at the Crystal Casino- where many might not expect to find high rollers.

The bounty shootout, with a maximum of 81 players, will take place on Tuesday the 16th, once most of the main event players have been eliminated.  The NAPT main event will have two starting days, Friday and Saturday, and is set to run until Wednesday when the final table is scheduled.

The last NAPT main event, at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun, attracted 716 players and awarded the champion, Vanessa Selbst, a top prize of 750,000.  Whether those numbers will be beaten tomorrow is unknown, however given that Los Angeles is home to not only many of the largest card clubs in the world but also a vibrant poker community, there’s certainly a very good shot.
