Im An APPT Champion
November 16, 2021
After years of failing at poker, while at the same time writing poker news, I finally got to claim “Im a champion" in one of my story’s titles; unfortunately for me but fortunately for the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour, I wasn’t able to use the all-important apostrophe, as “Im” it turns out is actually the name of the APPT’s first ever female champion.

Young-shin Im specifically, a young women from Korea, took down the Season 4 APPT Cebu main event yesterday for a top prize worth PHP 5,810,000- or about $132,000 USD.

Young-shin outlasted a total field of 236 players to claim her first major live tournament victory, including such notable pros as Tony Hachem, Neil Arce, Tom Grigg and Raymond Wu.

The final table finish positions for the PokerStars APPT Season 4 Cebu main event were as follows:

1st.  Young-shin Im- PHP 5,810,000

2nd.  Fabiano Michael- PHP 3,660,000

3rd.  Kim Gap Young- PHP 2,045,000

4th.  Mikael Rosen- PHP 1,560,000

5th.  Daren Yoon- PHP 1,290,000

6th.  Basilios Diakokomninos- PHP 1,025,000

7th.  Jukka Juvonen- PHP 805,000

8th.  Richard En- PHP 645,000

9th.  Raymond Lapitan- PHP 485,480
