WPT Marrakech Down To Nine
November 29, 2021
The World Poker Tour Marrakech main event, sponsored by Chilipoker, is down to its final nine players after only one Day Two, and two Day Ones.

These nine final players, the most notable being perhaps Latin American Poker Tour champion Dominik Nitsche, are now just a single table away from a top prize worth €254,745- about $334,000 USD- and an esteemed WPT title.

The WPT Marrakech main event began over the weekend with a total of 222 registered players.  The smaller than anticipated field, attracted nearly 200 less players than this same event did last year, but still managed to feature plenty of talented pros including Liz Lieu, Surinder Sunar, Arnaud Mattern, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and David Benyamine.

This €5,000 buy-in tournament, created a large enough total prize pool to pay out the top 27 places, but unfortunately none but Nitsche, of all of the above listed pros, would find themselves that deep in Morocco.

The chip counts for the final nine players of the WPT Marrakech presented by Chilipoker, are as follows:

Sebastian Homann- 1,539,000

Dominik Nitsche- 1,479,000

Guillaume Cescut- 956,000

Johan Williamson- 693,000

Sebastian Compte- 529,000

Guillaume de la Gorce- 516,000

Felix Oberauer- 499,000

Patrick Muleta- 244,000

Julien Labuissiere- 210,000
