The final event of the PokerStars USA Championship of Online Poker (USA COOP), one of thirteen regional Championships, concluded yesterday with online player “trainwrecks” taking down the $530 buy-in main event.

1,650 players entered the USA COOP main event, not quite enough to surpass the million dollar prize pool guarantee, but enough to award “trainwrecks” a top prize of $140,743.43, after a deal was struck with the other top three finishers.

The main event was not the only USA COOP tournament to fail to meet its posted guarantee, nine of the eleven events met the same fate, though to be fair this is PokerStars’ first attempt at running purely regional COOP events.

With the USA COOP now completed, online poker followers will get a week off before the start of the UK & Ireland Championship of Online Poker and the Latin American Championship of Online Poker, both of which start December 5th.
