266 players signed up for the €1,000 buy-in, weather stalled, PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Galway main event today, enough to create a first prize worth €67,100- or about $90,000 USD.

Among the starting group competing for that prize, were numerous well known pros including Julian Thew, Liv Boeree, Jude Ainsworth and Peter Murphy, who lead the entire field by the end of Day 1 play with 185,700 in tournament chips.

74 others will now attempt to catch Murphy when Day 2 begins tomorrow, with play expected to go not only past the 32-person money bubble, but all the way down to the final eight.
