UKIPT Galway Ends With Abu Risk Getting The Reward

The first major event of the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour second season, ended dramatically over the weekend with Nick Abou Risk claiming his second major UKIPT title.

Abou Risk, earned the title and top prize of €67,100 (about $90,000 USD), by outlasting a total field of 266 players, each of whom one way or another, ponied up a €1,000 buy-in.  Some of the notable pros in that starting field included Julian Thew, Liv Boeree, Jude Ainsworth and Peter Murphy.

With this win, Nick Abou Risk, a semi-pro Canadian player now residing in Dublin, became the UKIPT’s only multiple major title holder, thanks to a previous UKIPT Edinburgh win in August worth nearly $80,000 US.

The final table finish positions for the PokerStars Season 2 UKIPT Galway main event were as follows:

1st.  Nick Abou Risk- €67,100

2nd.  Trish Mallin- €41,300

3rd.  Maurice Silke- €25,250

4th.  Vytenis Navickas- €18,600

5th.  Eoin Olin- €15,400

6th.  Dan Rankin- €12,725

7th.  Roar Aspaas- €10,100

8th.  Johan Meyer- €7,975

9th.  Aonghus Farrell- €5,700
