Racener Arrested
December 13, 2021
Poker’s John Racener, fresh off a 4th place finish at the World Poker Tour World Poker Classic last week, was arrested over the weekend in Hillsborough County, Florida, for alleged drunk driving, his third such arrest in 5 years.

Racener, who earned much mainstream popularity this past November thanks to a runner-up finish in poker’s biggest dance, the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event, seems to be earning all the wrong kind of publicity at the moment, as this latest incident also brought to light to many a previous misdemeanor battery charge, when the weekend's arrest was reported in local paper the St. Petersburg Times.

A recent trailer for the upcoming documentary about Racener’s life titled “On The Line: John Racener,” seems to paint the young pro as a future king of the sport, that in the past has experienced more than his share of exhilarating highs and terrifying lows.  One would likely assume that film was going to end in triumph for Racener, as he overcame past demons to earn over $7,000,000 in 2010; however now, given this most recent incident, producers may need to consider reshooting the ending.
