Norm! MacDonald New Host Of High Stakes Poker
February 7, 2022
GSN’s High Stakes Poker, recent Bluff Reader’s Choice Awards winner for “Favorite Poker TV Show,” is apparently changing things up for their Seventh Season, with not only new players but a new host, Saturday Night Live alumni Norm MacDonald.

MacDonald, also known for his roles in such films as Grown Ups, Billy Madison and Dirty Work, will be replacing long time High Stakes Poker host Gabe Kaplan, who like his earlier co-host A.J. Benza, will be leaving the show altogether.

Norm is in many ways similar to Kaplan in that both are hybrids, with their feet firmly planted in both the poker and the comedy world; however there styles of comedy vary greatly, possibly creating a very different feel for the show when it debuts this February 26th.  Joining MacDonald in the booth this year will be co-host Kara Scott.

Some of the players expected to compete this season on High Stakes Poker include PokerRoad’s Barry Greenstein, Johnny Chan, Phil Galfond, Vanessa Selbst and 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Johnathan Duhamel.

Players not expected to compete: any of the members of Team Full Tilt Poker, as Season Seven of High Stakes Poker is presented by
