2011 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship Details Emerge
February 10, 2022
The first bits of news from organizers of the seventh annual NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship have begun to filter out, and it appears already that this year’s event will be bigger than ever.

That’s not to imply that the field size is changing, once again the event will feature only 64 elite competitors, however the money’s getting bigger, this year rewarding the event’s champion a top prize of $750,000.  That $750K is $250,000 more than The Apprentice’s Annie Duke earned when she took down this same event in 2010, a boost made possible thanks to a total prize pool of $1.8 million.

All 64 of the names that will have a shot at that money this year are still not known, however organizers have announced that defending champion Duke will be joined in the event by 2010’s World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, 2008’s Main Event champion Peter Eastgate- fresh from retirement- as well as many of the game’s other legends including Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Huck Seed and last year’s runner-up Erik Seidel.

The seventh annual NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship will once again be hosted by PokerRoad alum Ali Nejad, along with Craig Hummer and the beautiful Leeann Tweeden.  The event, presented by GoDaddy.com is scheduled to kick off March the 3rd.
