Walker’s UKIPT Run Ends In Victory
February 15, 2022
The largest poker event ever held in the United Kingdom, the £500 buy-in, PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Nottingham main event, concluded yesterday, with local player Gareth Walker claiming the title and a top prize worth £109,000- about $176,000 USD.

To earn the biggest prize of the event, Walker had to outlast a record setting field of 1,058 players- gathered in Nottingham from 39 different countries.  The total prize pool for the event was £529,000.

The second largest chunk of that prize pool, about $111,000 USD, went to fellow UK citizen Brett Angell, despite Angell entering the final twelve as one of the smallest stacks left in the field.

The final table finish positions for the 2011 UKIPT Nottingham main event were as follows:

1st.  Gareth Walker- £109,000

2nd.  Brett Angell- £68,700

3rd.  Romano Pizzo- £40,750

4th.  Tim Bettingen- £31,700

5th.  Mike Hill- £24,350

6th.  Chris Dowling- £19,050

7th.  Thomas Rolfe- £13,750

8th. David Heaton- £7,950

The next stop on the seemingly ever-growing PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour lands in Manchester next month.  For more information visit www.ukipt.com.
