Kitai Conquers WPT Celebrity Invitational
March 3, 2022
World Series of Poker bracelet winner Davidi Kitai, can now add a World Poker Tour title to his ever growing list of poker accomplishments (or at least an Invitational one) after successfully taking down last night’s final table of the 2011 WPT LA Poker Classic Celebrity Invitational.

Kitai, a professional poker player from Brussels, outlasted a total field of 482 players to claim the top $100,000 freeroll prize; a field comprised of not only fellow top pros but also well known celebrities from music, film, sports and television.

Some of the celebrities that competed in this year’s tournament included Chaka Khan, Gina Gershon, Jennifer Tilly, Danny Masterson, Don Cheadle and Twilight’s Billy Burke (Bella’s Dad).

Kitai entered yesterday’s final table second in chips behind Lakes Entertainment’s Damon Schramm, and just above Almira Skripchenko, amazingly one of two female chess masters to have made the final table.

Skripchenko, not Schramm, proved to be Kitai’s biggest threat, lasting all the way into heads-up play before finally bowing out in second place for a runner-up prize worth $50,000.

The final table finish positions for the 2011 WPT Celebrity Invitational were as follows:

1st.  Davidi Kitai- $100,000

2nd.  Almira Skripchenko- $50,000

3rd.  Dan Heimiller- $20,000

4th.  George Rechnitzer- $15,000

5th.  Damon Schramm- $10,000

6th.  Dinara Khaziyeva- $5,000
