The World Series of Poker Circuit Championship has begun at Caesars Indiana. Day 1 of the event saw a total of 117 players competing for a prize pool of $556,450, with a first prize pay out of $180,289.

Day 1 was a long one, as the players decided to play all the way down to the bubble before calling it a night. The bubble was set at 18 players which in the end meant play lasted until almost 4am. By the time the 18 weary players were finally able to go to sleep, Robert Cheung, a WSOP bracelet winner (2007 1,500 No Limit Hold 'Em), held the chip lead with 212,000 in chips followed by Phillip Sparta with 162,000.
