Last year's runner up in the 2007 Aussie Millions Main Event, Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke, has already taken down one of the 2008 preliminary events. Fricke won event 3, a $500 buy-in mixed games event featuring 7-card Stud, Razz, and 7-card Stud Hi/Lo.

Fricke beat out a final table full of Australians to win the $16,800 first prize.
