WSOP-C Tough Competition
May 1, 2022
334 players ponied up $5,150 on day 1 at the most recent stop on the World Series of Poker Circuit tour - the WSOP Las Vegas Championship. Among those players was a large contingent of some of the best in the game including Layne "Back To Back" Flack, Roy Winston, Robert Mizrachi, Scotty Nguyen, Erick Lindgren, Allen Cunningham, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Bill "The Stunning One" Edler, and Todd "The Less Stunning One" Brunson. The PokerRoad family was also well represented with Gavin "The Caveman" Smith, Anna Wroblewski and Jeff Madsen.

This impressive field was dominated by pros and made for a brutal Day 1. Unfortunately many talented players did not survive including, Lindgren, Ferguson, Wroblewski, Scotty, Jimmy Fricke, and Mr. Smith.

By the end of the day 1 carnage, only 54 players were left standing, yet many big name pros were still in it to keep things interesting for Day 2. These included the always impressive Allen Cunningham, Mark Newhouse, Nenad Medic, Bill Edler, Alan "BodogAri" Engel, and last year's WSOP Main Event final tablist Alex Kravcheko.
