Julien Nuijten Wins In Rio

19 year old Julien Nuijten has won the Latin American Poker Tour Rio de Janeiro event. Julien started the day as the overwhelming chip leader and was able to use that stack to eventually claim victory, despite losing the chip lead to Vitaly Kovyazin, at several points throughout the match. Russian born Kovyazin, eventually took 2nd in the event for $117,750.

With this victory, Julien Nuijten was able to take home the $222,940 first prize, along with the knowledge of knowing he will always be the LAPT's first champion.
