It seems like an oxymoron, but PokerStars (regarded as the leader in the online poker industry) now has it's own LIVE poker room. The PokerStars poker room is set in the luxurious Grand Waldo Casino on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The room can seat up to 250 people and will host numerous tournaments and special events.

The first big tournament scheduled for the new room begins today (May 23rd), and is a special charity event with proceeds going to help the victims of China's most recent devastating earthquake. This important tournament is just the first in a series of events called "The Macau Cup," which will take place all weekend long, and should be a great way to baptize this new and exciting poker playground.

PokerStars has not released any info on whether or not they intend to rig the live games so that the worst hand wins more often than it should, and so far no information has been released on if there will be a live boomswitch/killswitch now that Executive Switcher Lee Jones has moved on to work for CardRunners.
