WASSUP '08: Forrest Chopped Down By Brown
June 11, 2021
Ted Forrest has won 5 World Series Of Poker bracelets during his storied career, and just missed out on number six in Event #16, Omaha 8 or better. The bracelet was just out of Ted's reach last night, as he made it all the way into heads-up play with a sizeable chip lead. However, his run was eventually foiled by New Yorker Andrew Brown, who took advantage of a little luck to snatch away the bracelet, along with the $226,483 first prize. Forrest took $143,420 for second.

Third place is often overlooked in tournament recaps, yet in the case of this event, to do so would be negligent. Jim Pechac took third out of 551 players for $88,065 despite having just ONE CHIP before the last hand of Day 2. Pechac obviously won that hand and bagged up his TWO CHIPS to come back for day 3. Miraculously he was able to survive all day long while 15 bigger stacks fell along the wayside. "Big" Jim Pechac will head back to Phoenix with much respect and one hell of a World Series story.
