WASSUP '08: I Hope The Russians Love Their Bracelets Too
June 17, 2021
Russian pro Vitaly Lunkin took down Event #27 yesterday - the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. Vitaly beat out 2,705 other players to win his first bracelet and a top prize of $628,417, just slightly beating his previous best WSOP cash of $14,597.

When heads-up play began, Lunkin had over a million less chips than his opponent Brett Kimes. Lunkin was quick to even the score, however, taking over the chip lead after just one hand and never giving it back. In the end, Brett Kimes came up just short of a bracelet but still earned his biggest cash to date as well, taking home 2nd for $387,837.
