'Ante Up For Africa' Set To Go Again
June 20, 2021
Last year, poker pro Annie Duke and Oscar nominated actor Don Cheadle put their heads together to try to think of a way they could help with the tragic situation in Darfur. The result of that meeting of the minds was the inaugural "Ante Up For Africa," a celebrity charity poker tournament that raised more than $700,000 to help the victims of that ongoing crisis. The original Ante Up For Africa made for an exciting evening where big name stars rubbed elbows with poker's elite and anyone else generous enough to "ante up" for this noble cause. Those that weren't there missed out on something truly special.

Luckily though, if you missed it last time (or even if you didn't) you have another chance, as Duke and Cheadle are asking us all to "Ante Up For Africa" yet again.

The second annual Ante Up For Africa poker tournament is set to begin on Wednesday, July 2nd at 2 p.m, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. This $5,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament should be a fun filled, fast paced opportunity for people to do there part to help raise awareness and funds for a very worthy cause.

Expected to attend this important event are many of Annie and Don's famous friends, along with quite a few other celebrities that believe in the cause including Matt Damon, Daniel Negreanu, Adam Sandler, Doyle Brunson, Ben Affleck, Barry Greenstein, Cheryl Hines, Phil Ivey, Charles Barkley, Phil Laak, George Lopez, Phil Hellmuth Jr., Ray Romano, and possibly you, if you head to the Ante Up For Africa page on and sign up.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged, as seating is limited and expected to sell out.
