Frank Fixing to Block UIGEA
June 25, 2021
The 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has yet to be implemented, and if Representative Barney Frank (D-MA) and Ron Paul (R-TX) have their way, it never will be. H.R. 5767 is a bill proposed by Frank and Paul to block UIGEA implementation for numerous reasons including, "unworkable" language, unfunded mandates, and no clear definition of what "unlawful internet gambling" even is. H.R. 5767 has a hearing scheduled for today in front of the House Financial Services Committee, the committee chaired by Representative Frank.

Frank's bill is being strongly supported by the more than one million member strong Poker Players Alliance (click here to visit the PPA website and find out how you can help fight for poker players' rights), which has asked it's members to contact their local congressmen to support H.R. 5756.
