Poker Mourns The Passing Of John Bonetti
June 30, 2021
John Bonetti, one of poker's true characters and a three time WSOP bracelet winner, died on Saturday, June 28th in Houston Texas. Bonetti was a member of the Seniors hall of fame and had earned more than $4,000,000 in tournament winnings throughout his impressive 20-year career. Bonetti didn't begin playing poker until he was 57, yet won his first bracelet (No-Limit Deuce to Seven) less than 5 years later in 1990, when he defeated a final table that held among others, poker champion Johnny Moss.

Bonetti battled cancer valiantly for over 15 years, but finally succumbed to the disease on Saturday, when he died in his hometown at the age of 80.
