Event #53, the 1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout, is the last preliminary event before tomorrow's big dance, and many of poker's elite decided to take a shot at it yesterday. Within the initial 823 player starting group sat Daniel Negreanu, Layne Flack, Jen Harman, Andy Bloch, Bill Chen, Erik Seidel, Humberto Brenes, Chris Ferguson, Jean-Robert Bellande and PokerRoad's Barry Greenstein, Gavin Smith, Jeff Madsen, and Joe Sebok. Of all those listed, there was only one notable "Survivor" (sorry) as Jean-Robert was able to stay in the hunt for a piece of the $1,123,395 prize pool.

Joining Mr. Bellande for Day 2 are 71 others including, Hoyt Corkins, Jimmy Fricke, Kenna James, Ben Fineman, Blair Rodman, and Danny Wong. Day 2 is scheduled to resume today at 2PM PDT.
