WASSUP '08: Main Event Day 1b, Seceding From The Tables
July 7, 2021
Day 1b of the World Series Of Poker Main Event saw another impressive 1,158 people register to play, despite the day landing on America's birthday. Many big name pros chose the 4th to try their luck at the big dance, only to find themselves ousted from the tables like the British some 200+ years ago. Just a short list of the pros who wont be seeing Day 2 includes Ted Forrest, Andy Black, Scott Fischman, Kenny Tran, Dewey Tomko, Jacobo Fernandez, Sam Grizzle, Tom McEvoy, Farzad Bonyadi, Kenna James, and Daniel Negreanu.

At the end of play on Day 1b, only 615 players were left, and many of poker's biggest characters survived the day including Bill Edler, Erik Seidel, Patrick Antonius, Kathy Liebert, Alex Kravchenko, Robert Mizrachi, Barny Boatman, and Erick "Erick Lindgren" Lindgren. The chip leader at the end of the day was Ben Sarnoff.
