Day 1D Crushes Previous Days
July 8, 2021
The fourth and final day 1 (thank god) of the main event of the WSOP came to a close late Sunday night, and after all the numbers were tallied people were left excited, impressed, and perhaps feeling a slight presence from the dark side. A near sell-out field of 2,461 players took to the felt bringing the grand total number of participants to an earth shattering 6,844. This is the second largest Main Event field in history with a total prize pool in excess of 64 million dollars. First prize this year will be 9.1 million, and a total number of 666 (say what?) players will be paid.
