And We Have Ourselves a Chipleader!
July 9, 2021
A field of 1251 players filled the Amazon room at the Rio to begin day 2A of the Main Event on Tuesday and while many name pros were felted early (Barry Greenstien, Anna Wroblewski, Greg Mueller) the big story was the emergence of the tournaments first big chip leader. Coming in with just over 160,000 in chips, newcomer Brian Schaedlich quickly became the player to watch ending the day with over 800K, nearly doubling his next closest rival. Only time will tell whether Schaedlich will be able to turn this chip lead into a deep run, or whether he'll be just another Dimitri Nobles in the history books. Other chip leaders include; Brandon Adams, Hunter Frey, and David "Cheeno" Rheem.
