New Poker After Dark Tries To Settle Old Question
July 22, 2021
This week on NBC's Poker After Dark (PAD), the internet's young brash superstars will finally get their chance to show up poker's old school elite in what NBC is dubbing, "Nets vs. Vets" week.

It is of course one of the most often asked questions in poker ever since the internet poker boom - whether the best online poker players (despite their age) are as good as, if not better, than poker's original legends. To argue the case in the affirmative is Tom "durrr" Dwan, Brian "sbrugby" Townsend and Andrew "good2cu" Robl. Three players which have made big names for themselves in a relatively short amount of time, in the virtual poker world.

Representing the "old school" live players are some of the best and most established pros in the game, Doyle Brunson, Huckleberry Seed and Johnny Chan. Each with numerous titles and bracelets, including at least one World Series Of Poker Main Event Championship title.

The format for the week is back to the PAD classic 6-person winner-take-all. A sit-n-go style competition which could very well give an edge to the internet kids, despite their relative lack of live experience. By the end of the week, one of these 6 players will walk away with $120,000, along with the pride of knowing they successfully represented their often disrespected and maligned group.
