Nevada Hanging In There
August 14, 2021
The economic woes of Nevada, and Las Vegas in particular, have been well documented as of late, so it was somewhat surprising when the most recent monthly Nevada gaming revenue report showed a loss significantly less severe than last month's devastating numbers. The previous revenue report showed year-over-year losses worse than any in the last 10 years, so when this most recent report showed a decline in state revenue of 1.1% compared to last year, it was (relatively speaking,) pretty good news.

The Vegas strip faired slightly worse than the state overall, posting a 3% loss; however, many parts of Vegas actually improved, including Downtown (10% increase) and North Las Vegas (41%). Overall, according to the report, Clark County was up 2% for the month of June.
