'hAAydon' Negotiates A Win In The $2,500
August 18, 2021
The two-day, $2,500+ 120 buy-in, Full Tilt Online Poker Series Event #22 saw 942 players sign up to create a total prize pool of $2,355,000. This prize pool surpassed the guarantee by $355,000, despite Event #22 being by far the most expensive event of the Series.

Many well known pros signed up to play in this deep stack tournament, including of course, quite a few of the regular Full Tilt "red" pros. However, even with so many stars in the field, it was a non-Full Tilt sponsored pro that would go the farthest, making it deep into the final table. International player and "bad boy of poker" Tony G earned himself over $100,000 in event #22, lasting until 6th place when he was finally busted by "knickadam55," running A9 into knickadam55's pair of tens.

At the time of the elimination of "Tony G", the blinds were already at 10,000/20,000 with a 2,500 ante, so it didn't take long for two more players to follow Tony out. "BootySmooth" and "sebbau" were the next two players to drop, and they did so before the blinds passed the 12,000/24,000 mark. This left only "hAAydon", "knickadam55," and "triathlon4" fighting for the big prize.

Any hopes of a quick ending to this final table died with these three players, when the triad battled for over 200 more hands without losing a man. Eventually, the three possibly exhausted players decided to make a deal to help bring the event to a conclusion. With the deal (somewhat of a rarity on Full Tilt), each player was guaranteed at least $350,000, with chip leader "hAAydon" earning the most at $370,000. Once the deal was struck, the players fell fairly quickly despite $36,287.50 still up for grabs.

In the end, it was "hAAydon" who would earn the official win and the gold jersey, with second going to "triathlon4" and third to Tony G's executioner "knickadam55", but given the size of the agreed upon deal, this event could basically be seen as a three way tie.
