August 27th marks the beginning of the second event of the 2008 Asian Poker Tour - the APT Macau. This $5,000 + 300 buy-in tournament, which organizers are calling the biggest ever in Asia, has a guaranteed prize pool of $1,500,000 and a guaranteed first prize of at least half a million dollars.

Along with the tournament itself, there are many special events which begin today in Macau and carry on through out the week. A few of these include a book signing featuring Doyle Brunson, a celebrity poker tournament with boxer Manny Pacquiao, actor Michael Wong and MTV star Tila Tequila, and a high stakes cash game with a minimum buy-in of approximately $128,000.
